A little under a year ago my Overwatch journey began. I was so excited! So ready to take on my first FPS competitive game! Little did I know, my first battle was going to be with my own motherboard.

When the Open Beta allowed thousands of people to play on the Overwatch servers my friends and I were more than a little hyped. We played for at least 18 hours straight. It was fantastic. When we all woke up at 2 pm the next day my PNG had jumped to 300. There was so much in-game stutter that my teammates and enemies were teleporting on screen.

It was too much to try and aim so I stuck with Reinhardt. Thus Reinhardt became my main. Together we learned how to stop Roadhog hooks from snatching my teammates and bringing down our enemies with a devastating earth-shatter!

A week had gone by and Reinhardt and I did our best. But with the massive amounts of latency we just couldn’t do anything. I found a work around that helped. None of my friends were experiencing this massive lag. This meant that what was happening was because of my computer.

One month and the work around I had found was patched out. So I really needed to find a solution to the problem. In the forums, there were a number of people who were also experiencing the same problems. Each time I tried one of the solutions it did nothing.

I saw that some people uninstalled some programs from their computer that had come with their Asus Motherboards. They were optional programs. I brushed this aside because I didn’t think my motherboard was the problem.

After exhausting all other solutions I reluctantly looked to see if I had those programs installed on my computer, and there they were. The little demons! With a lot of prejudice I uninstalled these programs!

Reinhardt and I were finally free.
